"Alaska- Cats Okay" -- Alaska needs a new home as his family's financial difficulties are forcing them to move to "not pets allowed" housing.

Alaska has lived for 3 years with a family with young children, until recently he lived with another young active dog. He lives with cats and never chases them. He's content to stay outdoors with his igloo dog house. He does come in the house but
he will not walk on linoleum.

He is a very sweet, easy going guy who is one of those great low maintenance pets.

"Charger" -- Charger spent the first 2 years of his life in a breeder's home and when that breeder became ill the dogs got very little human affection. He is timid but not at all aggressive. He warmes up to people with time. As with the others we have helped place from this situation, once you gain his trust he is affectionate and will give kisses. He enjoys other dogs and is fine with kids. He was trained to a show leash (walking but not sitting) and is use to a crate for feeding and sleeping. If you have it in your heart to work with him to learn that humans make good companions he will repay you again and again. Charger is currently in Grass Valley at a persons home who took all of the dogs from this breeder. We have slowly been bringing them to the Bay Area or you can go up there to meet him. He will be neutered prior to placement, microchipped, shots brought up to date and heartworm tested.

"Cadi" -- This gal was found In Union City at a Star Bucks Parking lot off Mission, July 31,2007
We took her home, placed ads, had her checked for a mico chip, there was none, and contacted shelters. She only had a rabies tag on, with a number and no vet or Animal Control information.

She was taken to the shelter but no owner showed up. She is now in SHRRCA rescue.

"Thumper" -- Thumper was picked up as a stray in Tracy July 28th. She just came into rescue. She will be micro chipped, spayed and ready after September 9th, to be adopted. She will be at the Marin Adoption Fair on Sept. 6-7-Marin Center in San Rafael.
She gets along well with other Siberians, loves to play and is wonderful with toddlers.
She needs a home that will give her lots of attention and time with humans.

"Maya" -- Maya is friendly, gentle, good on leash, good with other dogs (playful with male dogs), great jogging partner, sits/shakes paw for treats, will give you kisses. She can jump/climb over a 6 ft run or fence. She has to be totally indoor with supervision and lead in the yard...or she will take off. No cats. She hates being crated unless you are in the room, then will sleep in the crate. She wants to sleep in your bedroom. Calm and relaxed when around people. Need husky experienced adult home with someone that works from home or takes her to work with them. Another dog to play with preferred. Need daily exercise (long walks/runs/hikes/doggie day-care/parks). Maya has been thru a lot in her life. She needs love, routine, and stability as a family member for life.

Male, 2 years 5 months old, Copper and White, Brown eyes

"Indy" -- Indy is a 2 ½ year old male husky mix. He was adopted from BASH as an 8 week old puppy from a Siberian Mom. He weighs 85 pounds, is copper and white with brown eyes. He has had all vaccinations, has been neutered and is on flea and heart worm preventative. He is crate trained and went to obedience school as a puppy. He knows the commands – sit, down, and wait. He is very responsive to his owner’s tone of voice and very obedient. He likes to chase a ball and likes to walk and run on leash but he does pull on the leash at times. He is very loving and protective of his family. He can be leery of strangers and be protective. He barks at strangers that come into the yard if they are not with a family member. He has not been around small children. Indy “talks” like a Husky and does some occasional digging. Indy has a fun and playful personality with his family. He brings us his food bowl when he wants to remind us to feed him and he nudges our hand to ask us to pet him.
A job transfer is causing us to move out of State and we will be renting a home for a time. We are sad to have to find a new home for Indy, but it seems to be the best thing to do at this transitional time. We are looking for a wonderful home for a wonderful dog.

"Maude" -- This gal was found near the El Cerro ramp in Danville, CA. She was chased down the 680 freeway at 11:00 pm Sunday, Oct 7, 2007. We are guessing at her age.
She was taken to the Contra Costa Animal Control in Martinez Wednsday Oct 10, 2007.
Removed from Shelter and put into Rescue.

She is layed back, sweet, and gets along with other dogs. Would make a wonderful dog for an older couple, who like to travel by car, take walks and just have a dog to hang out with.

"Capone" -- Capone is around 6 years old but still very active. Given his one blue eye he is definitely a Siberian, Malamute mix who also could have some Shepherd in there. He is a beautiful boy who rides well in the car, is okay on leash, once he settles down but does need some training. Capone is willing to please. and would be a wonderful companion for the person who would give him the love and attention he deserves, along with consistency in training and activity. He's a happy boy and give him a rear rub and he'll be content. Capone is currently in the Fremont area.

"Shadow (2)" -- Shadow is a very handsome Alaskan Malamute, but you can see a little German Shepherd in him. He's about 2 yrs old, and very healthy. He has very classic Malamute colors, but a slight physique and more short Shepherd-like coat.

Shadow is a great dog and a sweet affectionate companion, if handled gently, but firmly (ie he
needs to respect you as the leader). He makes a great companion for both people and other dogs.
He walks well on a leash, with and without other dogs, but must be made to sit when meeting other
dogs. He loves to go to the dog park and play but will try to mount other male dogs. A stern NO or
OFF will make him stop. He is not aggressive when another dog tells him no, but he will attempt to
dominate very submissive dogs. Again, he responds well to a stern sit, and calms down once sitting.

Firm commands and gentle handling is a must for him. He will mouth if his collar is grabbed roughly. He has some seperation anxiety and can't always decide if he wants to be inside or out. A dog door helps this a great deal. He appears to be a little protective, that is the German Shepard in him.

He needs a loving home who will continue to work with him with both gentle and firm guidance and one that has had previous Malamute or Husky experience.

"Loba" -- URGENT

Loba needs a new foster home, her current foster is moving out of state !

Loba is about 7-8 yrs old and 85 lbs. She is sweet and obedient. She has food allergies which require a special diet to keep her skin healthy, she's been doing very well on Instinct Dog Food. Frequent baths have helped her coat to come back, she calmly tolerates the baths, and will still need them to keep her skin and coat in condition. She loves walks and rides in the car. She doesn't need someone too active, a daily stroll around the neighborhood will make her happy, or a car ride to the store etc. She doesn't like most other dogs, although she has made great friends with her foster mom's male malamute. She might be OK living with a male if given time to get to know him first. She is housetrained but would love a home where someone is around a lot. She is unusual for a malamute as she is protective of her home and people, and since she was previously on her own for so long before we took her into rescue she is possessive of her food. She would be great for a retired couple or someone with slight disabilities, she doesn't like a lot of noise and chaos, and thus needs a home without small children.

"Juno" -- Red/white piebald, Male unaltered was found running in the neighborhood of Elverta, near the McClellan airport. Around mid Feb. 2008. Won't let anyone near him. Is friendly around other dogs.

Gets along with other dogs, and is really sweet, when he warms up to you.

"Honda" -- Honda is a small (50-55 pounds), young (12-18 months), back/white male Siberian Husky with a traditional mask. Honda rides well in the car, and does fine with the other dogs who he shares a home with until his adoption. He's a very sweet boy who wants to be by his foster moms side when she comes home from a 12-15 hour day at work. Honda is housebroken, plays well with others and knows when to back down. he is neutered, current on his shots, tested negative for heartworm, on heartworm prevention and microchipped.

Tundra is looking for a forever home.

Good friend and mentor Sheila Kuesthardt passed away last September and Tundra is her last remaining Siberian needing a forever home. Sheila dedicated many years of her life to Siberians and all breed rescue. She is gone, but her love for the breed lives on in all the furry friends she found homes for.

Tundra is a very sweet boy. He loves people, especially children. He does not do well with cats or small dogs. Tundra would do best as an only dog. Like all Siberians he requires a secure fenced yard. He is 6-7 years old, current on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. "Misty" -- We found a lost, beatuiful, white, bi-eyed husky found in Chino on New Years Day. She was lost before that and picked up by another person a few days before. She escaped from that house and then we found her. She has been at our home since then. We are working with the other family that found her to try and find the dogs owner but she has not been claimed. We have posted ads, signs, and have even had her scanned for a microchip which she does have. Her name is Misty and she is a beautiful, sweet, well mannerred lady. Her previous owner had her microchipped and we have the name but we cannot find the owner. She is a wonderful dog, and we would like to keep her, but after having her for two weeks we see that it is not a good fit for all of us. I would like to be able to find a wonderful permanent home for this lovely lady, she deserves it. Please assist us in finding a home for Misty.
